I quickly felt the benefits of Chiropractic care not only for pain relief but also for keeping fit and staying healthy and well. In Colorado, where I’m from, people routinely see Chiropractors for "Wellness Care" rather than "Pain Care", so it’s great that I can work somewhere that shares this philosophy. I know the reason I can enjoy all the activities I do is due to my consistent care, so I'm glad I discovered it so early. Having received treatment for a shoulder injury, I actually approached the staff about becoming a part of the team after seeing firsthand the kind of care that they offered. Being a part of this team means the world to me and I am so proud of the support we give our patients. Each day at "work" I get to meet and help so many people, many of whom have now become friends. It's exciting to see the positive changes in their health and that of their families as they progress through care. Outside work I lead a very active life and enjoy skiing, yoga, weight training, motorcycle touring and much more. Given how many members of the team have dogs I have also become the resident team dog sitter. Linsey Chiropractic Assistant As a child I suffered with intermittent back problems since having a growth spurt at around the age of 10. After trying every treatment going I finally stumbled across Chiropractic care and that is where my love of getting regular adjustments began! I have always worked in the health and wellbeing industry so as soon as a position became available at Care for Health I was keen to jump on board. The best things about my job are working alongside the team. We work hard but also have a lot of laughs together! It’s also an incredibly rewarding the job - seeing the changes that we make to people’s lives every day. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband, two daughters and our border terrier who we love taking for long walks particularly around beautiful surrey or to the beach. I am also a big Pilates fan and find it great for my mental health as well as physical health. Emma Chiropractic Assistant I first had chiropractic care 2 years ago and have never looked back. I had no specific pain or injury but was very aware that your spine is central to overall health and well being, which I wanted to maintain. After my first consultation I was very surprised by the prior deterioration in my neck and spine. Two years on, after regular adjustments, I have seen a huge improvement. My neck and spine are more flexible, and my posture has improved. When the position of Chiropractic Assistant became available at Care For Health, I jumped at the chance to work with such a great team. I love working with so many people who all have the same mindset regarding health and well being. Seeing the improvements in our patients’ health is also incredibly rewarding. I live in Godalming with my husband, a chef, my daughter, and Toto the dog. Living with a chef means lots of healthy, delicious food. More recently whilst studying at university I started playing rugby for the university team and I now also play for a local rugby club. Since graduating from the University of Chichester I have gained experience pitch side for two different football clubs, working with both male and female teams. Most recently working pitch side for Chichester and Selsey ladies in the 4th round of the FA Cup against West Ham. I have also experienced working within a clinical environment whilst studying at university. This experience has allowed me to be exposed to a wide variety of injuries and scenarios. Other experience involved working with amputee patients, this was eye-opening as I managed to witness patients walking again for the first time in years which was very rewarding to see. I believe I will be a good addition to the Care for Health team as I plan to continue to develop as a sports therapist and will put the needs of my patients first, I am excited to get started here and see patients develop from week to week. After experiencing first-hand the amazing benefits of treatment, he soon set his sights on becoming a Chiropractor. Ten years later, he graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of Glamorgan, where he excelled in his academic studies. During his time at university, Dr Fairclough developed a special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. In his first three years of practice, he grew a very successful Chiropractic practice near Birmingham. However, despite getting excellent results, he felt he could be doing more to improve the long term quality of life of his patients. After a year-long sabbatical spent travelling around the world, he returned with a commitment to practice using a truly multidisciplinary approach. Research has shown that most of us will experience back pain and its complications in our lives. For some of us this will go on to become a chronic debilitating condition. Neck Pain It is very common for adults to experience neck and shoulder pain at some point in their life. Neck pain and its related problems can become incapacitating for sufferers. Injury and postural problems are the most common causes of neck pain. Other causes include trauma, stress, and falling asleep in an awkward position. Chiropractic care has been shown to be extremely effective in treating neck pain. Treatment is tailored to the individual and always includes exercises and advice on ergonomics because our priority is getting you out of pain and keeping you out of pain. Headaches Chiropractic has been shown to be a very effective treatment for a number of different types of headache. Many headaches originate from the structures of the neck, which are referred to as cervicogenic headaches.
