If digital x-rays are clinically indicated, there will be an extra charge of between £80-140 depending on the number of areas x-rayed. Tracy Bown BSc., Doctor of Chiropractic Tracy was born and raised in Canada and has always had a passion for health. Her early career path was progressing towards a conventional allopathic medical career until she encountered the healing powers of chiropractic. Her mother was suffering from chronic lower back pain and was diagnosed with three herniated discs; her condition was unresponsive to medical treatments and surgery was recommended. As a last resort, she tried chiropractic care and Tracy witnessed the improvement and stabilization of her mother’s condition through this non-invasive method of health. This inspired Tracy to change her focus and pursue a career in Chiropractic. In 2000, she graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, Canada, and decided to travel around the world practising chiropractic where she found herself in Australia covering practices as a locum Doctor of Chiropractic. It was here that Tracy came under the tutelage of one of the top medical radiologists in the world, the late Dr. Lindsay Rowe (also a Chiropractor); they became firm friends and Dr. Lindsay served as a great mentor for Tracy’s Chiropractic career. After returning back to her roots in Newfoundland, Canada and continuing with some locum work, Tracy then moved to Portugal and resided there for 11 years where she owned and managed two very successful clinics in the Algarve. Over the last seven years Tracy has travelled extensively around the world and has worked in Thailand, India, Oman, Nicaragua and the UK. Tracy is passionate about Chiropractic and gives 100% energy to try to improve each and every patient’s spinal health and function. Outside of work, Tracy’s passions include the gym and fitness, traveling the world, and spending time with family and friends. Nick Bach-Price BSc., Doctor of Chiropractic Nick was born in central London and grew up in London, Berkshire and Somerset. He got into Chiropractic after suffering with chronic low back pain following a car accident in his early 20’s. After nearly a year of pain and not being able to play sport, a Chiropractor in Berkhamsted got Nick back on the road to recovery. Six years later, in 1996, Nick graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) and has been in full time practice since his graduation, owning and running clinics in the UK and Portugal. He has also worked in India, Thailand and Nicaragua helping to develop and raise the profile of Chiropractic in these countries. Dr. Nick specialises in the structural correction of the spine and has completed his Master Certification in Scoliosis Conservative Management after extensive training in Australia, USA and Italy with some of the world leaders in Scoliosis bracing and exercise rehabilitation protocols. He has been an authorised Scolibrace Provider since 2017. His passion is educating people on the long-term benefits of Chiropractic care and how it can not only reduce pain but improve function of the whole-body as well, thus allowing people to keep on doing the activities that they love to do. Nick has recently managed to finish his book on health, during the Covid-19 lockdown period, and hopes to publish his efforts in the near future. Outside of work, Nick enjoys the gym and staying fit and is passionate about cricket, rugby, travel and the piano. Nick and Tracy have a daughter, Elisha, who graduated as a Chiropractor in 2021 and works in Devon. Megan Saunders MSc., Doctor of Chiropractic Megan graduated from The Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) which is part of the University of South Wales and has additional qualifications in massage and dry needling. Megan was first introduced to Chiropractic following a football injury at the age of 16 and after not recovering with the usual therapies she was advised to try Chiropractic treatment by a family member. Her recovery was so impressive to her that she decided to research the Chiropractic profession and ended up enrolling for the Chiropractic degree course in South Wales. She graduated with a distinction and has been in practice in Glamorgan for the last year. In her spare time, Dr. Megan is a keen soccer player and played semi-professional soccer for Swansea City Ladies whilst she was studying in South Wales; she is currently playing for Dorking Wanderers Ladies XI. As a natural athlete, Dr. Megan has a keen interest in sport injuries and how improved spinal biomechanics using Chiropractic care can enhance physical performance. Sharon Dobbins Receptionist / Administrator Sharon has over twenty five years of experience in business administration and customer care and has mainly been involved within the property and health sectors. Sharon will always welcome you with a smile and her calm and friendly manner allows our patients to feel welcome and relaxed during their visits to The Thames Clinic. Outside of work, Sharon is an avid football fan and also enjoys dancing, walking, swimming and spending time with family and friends. Susan Bagwell Receptionist / Administrator Susan is well versed in business administration and office management with over twenty five years of experience and enjoys meeting people with her customer focus skills. Susan’s friendly, calm and efficient manner are an asset to our team and our patients who will feel at ease when in her company. Outside of work, Susan enjoys going to the gym, walking and is a keen follower of the British Touring Car Championship which she regularly attends with her husband and son. Debbie Cousens Receptionist / Administrator Debbie has over thirty years of experience as a project manager mainly in the financial and bankingsector. Her organizational and customer care skills are an asset to The Thames Clinic and her calm and friendly nature will ensure that all patients are thoroughly looked after during their visits here. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys spending time with her four children and three grand-children. She keeps fit with yoga, swimming and taking long walks with her dog. As a keen music lover and plays the piano, listens to Robbie Williams endlessly and regularly volunteers at Glastonbury Festival. Tracy Bown BSc., Doctor of Chiropractic Tracy was born and raised in Canada and has always had a passion for health. Her early career path was progressing towards a conventional allopathic medical career until she encountered the healing powers of chiropractic. Her mother was suffering from chronic lower back pain and was diagnosed with three herniated discs; her condition was unresponsive to medical treatments and surgery was recommended. As a last resort, she tried chiropractic care and Tracy witnessed the improvement and stabilization of her mother’s condition through this non-invasive method of health. This inspired Tracy to change her focus and pursue a career in Chiropractic. In 2000, she graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, Canada, and decided to travel around the world practising chiropractic where she found herself in Australia covering practices as a locum Doctor of Chiropractic. It was here that Tracy came under the tutelage of one of the top medical radiologists in the world, the late Dr. Lindsay Rowe (also a Chiropractor); they became firm friends and Dr. Lindsay served as a great mentor for Tracy’s Chiropractic career. After returning back to her roots in Newfoundland, Canada and continuing with some locum work, Tracy then moved to Portugal and resided there for 11 years where she owned and managed two very successful clinics in the Algarve. Over the last seven years Tracy has travelled extensively around the world and has worked in Thailand, India, Oman, Nicaragua and the UK. Tracy is passionate about Chiropractic and gives 100% energy to try to improve each and every patient’s spinal health and function. Outside of work, Tracy’s passions include the gym and fitness, traveling the world, and spending time with family and friends. Nick Bach-Price BSc., Doctor of Chiropractic Nick was born in central London and grew up in London, Berkshire and Somerset. He got into Chiropractic after suffering with chronic low back pain following a car accident in his early 20’s. After nearly a year of pain and not being able to play sport, a Chiropractor in Berkhamsted got Nick back on the road to recovery. Six years later, in 1996, Nick graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) and has been in full time practice since his graduation, owning and running clinics in the UK and Portugal. He has also worked in India, Thailand and Nicaragua helping to develop and raise the profile of Chiropractic in these countries. Dr. Nick specialises in the structural correction of the spine and has completed his Master Certification in Scoliosis Conservative Management after extensive training in Australia, USA and Italy with some of the world leaders in Scoliosis bracing and exercise rehabilitation protocols. He has been an authorised Scolibrace Provider since 2017. His passion is educating people on the long-term benefits of Chiropractic care and how it can not only reduce pain but improve function of the whole-body as well, thus allowing people to keep on doing the activities that they love to do. Nick has recently managed to finish his book on health, during the Covid-19 lockdown period, and hopes to publish his efforts in the near future. Megan Saunders MSc., Doctor of Chiropractic Megan graduated from The Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) which is part of the University of South Wales and has additional qualifications in massage and dry needling. Megan was first introduced to Chiropractic following a football injury at the age of 16 and after not recovering with the usual therapies she was advised to try Chiropractic treatment by a family member. Her recovery was so impressive to her that she decided to research the Chiropractic profession and ended up enrolling for the Chiropractic degree course in South Wales. What is a chiropractic adjustment? At Advanced Spinal Care we do not like to use the words manipulation or “crack” when referring to treating the back but rather an “adjustment”. The latter is a specific quick and low force impulse applied to a joint in order to alter the way in which that specific joint sends signals back to the brain. When a joint in the spine displaces itself relative to normal then a cascade of reactions occur which causes abnormal mechanical stress and accelerates the wear and tear on the surrounding spinal muscles, ligaments, discs, joint and other spinal tissues. Pain, inflammation, decreased spinal mobility, muscle spasm and hypertonicity will eventually follow. Spinal adjustments aim to reverse these reactions by restoring normal nerve communication between the affected joints and the brain and thus restoring normal range of motion, reducing inflammation and muscle spasm.
