I was born in Sutton Coldfield (West Midlands – Someone had to be) and was always keen on football from a young age. Unfortunately, too much too young and poor management, so I hung the boots up and I developed a natural ability for Hockey, and this led me to compete at county level and then onto West of England along with National league. I then joined the Royal Air Force; I continued my passion with sport and became a Physical training instructor. Along with many of the hats that this job entailed, I also developed a love for skiing and became on instructor whilst working in Germany. I then returned to UK and studied to become an exercise rehabilitation instructor at Headley Court. Competing in sport from a young age has led my passion for learning new activities, coaching, and helping others develop and enhance their potential. Since leaving the Military I have continued in the rehabilitation of people from all walks of life including professional sportsman, general fitness fanatic’s to my old and bolds. What is your role at Fay Pedler clinic? Musculo-skeletal and exercise Physiotherapist What are you most proud of? I have competed and completed many challenges at various levels over the past 35 years and I am always look forward to the next one. I have also put all my efforts in each one with a smile on my face. I have most recently completed my first National Road Race and finished 16th out of 87 riders. What’s the best thing about being part of the Fay Pedler team? Working alongside an excellent team of professional clinicians and having the freedom and time to help return people to full fitness by getting fitter, stronger, and educated about the management of their injury. If you weren’t a member of the Fay PedIer Team what would you be? Anything that involves being outside and having two planks of wood attached to my feet and racing down the slopes as fast as possible, finishing it off with a nice hot chocolate covered in cream and marshmallows’ watching the sunset……. More importantly…. If you could share a bottle of something with any 3 people in the world, who would they be? Sir David Attenborough, Brian Cox, Muhamed Ali, What is your favourite song(s)? Insomnia by Faithless; Clocks by Coldplay Where in the world is top of your list to visit? Nepal and the Himalayan mountains. What is the one thing that may surprise people about you? The Team The current owners worked alongside Fay for many years and were fortunate to take ownership when Fay chose to rest her thumbs and retire. Ricky, Duncan and Alex are all qualified physiotherapists who became friends whilst working at Derriford Hospital. They share an ambition to own their own practice providing excellent patient centred care, where goals and positive outcomes are the primary focus. Since 2016 Fay Pedler Physiotherapy has continued to grow to meet the needs of modern healthcare. We have a dynamic team of highly skilled, professional physiotherapists and health care professionals with an outstanding reputation, offering the latest treatments tailored to individual needs. The clinic offers more than physiotherapy alone; we also have Sports therapy and massage, western acupuncture and shockwave therapy, Pilates classes, traditional Chinese acupuncture, counselling psychology, chiropody, podiatry, psychology and medicolegal assessors available. Fay Pedler Clinic are known as Plymouth’s leading specialists offering fast access to expert health care with all Physiotherapists having at least five years clinical experience, the majority over 15 years, boasting clinical expertise in the management of all musculoskeletal conditions.
