Matthew Wright BSc MChiro Dc My Story My journey into chiropractic started at sixteen, during a week of work experience in a local physiotherapy department. One of the physios smiled and said, “You sound more like you want to be a chiropractor.”Around the same time, a close friend injured his back attempting an overhead kick in football. I went with him to see the local chiropractor, and while waiting, I picked up a college prospectus. One line stood out “100% employment after graduation.”That small moment sparked something. I arranged my own work experience with the chiropractor, and from the very first day I knew this was the path for me. What began with curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion for understanding movement, helping people recover, and seeing the difference chiropractic care can make. Becoming a Chiropractor I trained at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth, which is now the Health Sciences University graduating in 2005. My early career took me to Nottingham and Sheffield, where I gained valuable experience before returning to Devon.In 2010, I opened Momentum Chiropractic in Newton Abbot, and later expanded to Taunton, creating trusted clinics that combine expertise with a caring, friendly approach. I play golf at Torquay Golf Club twice a week, enjoying both the challenge and the chance to clear my head outdoors. I’m a lifelong Arsenal supporter, and I also follow the Exeter Chiefs, where you’ll often find me on the East Terrace soaking up the atmosphere on match days. Staying active and involved in sport keeps me grounded and constantly reminds me why I do what I do — helping others stay active and enjoy life. One of the physios smiled and said, “You sound more like you want to be a chiropractor.”Around the same time, a close friend injured his back attempting an overhead kick in football. I went with him to see the local chiropractor, and while waiting, I picked up a college prospectus. One line stood out “100% employment after graduation.”That small moment sparked something. I arranged my own work experience with the chiropractor, and from the very first day I knew this was the path for me. What began with curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion for understanding movement, helping people recover, and seeing the difference chiropractic care can make. Becoming a Chiropractor I trained at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth, which is now the Health Sciences University graduating in 2005. My early career took me to Nottingham and Sheffield, where I gained valuable experience before returning to Devon.In 2010, I opened Momentum Chiropractic in Newton Abbot, and later expanded to Taunton, creating trusted clinics that combine expertise with a caring, friendly approach.
