During her time in medical school, she also completed a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, before practicing as a Cardiologist in Nan Ning city. She emigrated to the UK with her family in 1990, becoming a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner in 1995 after the birth of her daughter. MEET THE TEAM Edwina Huang Acupuncturist Edwina started her career as a Medical Doctor, graduating from the Guang Xi University of Medicine in Guangxi Province, in south China. During her time in medical school, she also completed a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, before practicing as a Cardiologist in Nan Ning city. She emigrated to the UK with her family in 1990, becoming a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner in 1995 after the birth of her daughter. In her practice, she combines her knowledge and skills from the fundamentals of conventional Western medicine with traditional Eastern Medicine methods to fully understand the interconnective functions of the body to better treat her patients. Through this combined technique, she has achieved incredible success caring for patients who have struggled with more conventional approaches. Integrating treatments The key to her success is a willingness to continue to learn and develop her skills as a practitioner, integrating her treatments with Traditional Chinese disciplines and techniques. She supplements her Chinese Acupuncture skills with additional Fascial Stimulation Therapy (FaST) Acupuncture and her Fascia Release Massage Therapy with her own MOX TM Heating Therapy, a treatment she has developed over 30 years of clinical experience. I tried many types of treatments but none seemed to give me any relief. When I was twelve years old an Orthopaedic consultant advised me to “learn to live with it” and that in the future I would have to undergo hip surgery. When I was twelve years old an Orthopaedic consultant advised me to “learn to live with it” and that in the future I would have to undergo hip surgery. At 13, my family moved to the United States where my parents first heard about chiropractic treatment, We decided to investigate the matter and after the first treatment, my back pain disappeared. It was immediately following this treatment that I decided that I would become a chiropractor. Education In 2002 I graduated from the Anglo- European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth with an MSc in Chiropractic Sciences. For 10 years I have run clinics that treat all types of pain: headaches, back pain, neck pain .. and more. Over the years, the feeling grew in me that there was additional knowledge that would help to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and long- term effectiveness of care. Functional Neurology After investigating the matter, I was exposed to Functional Neurology. Functional Neurology gives me a much deeper understanding of the functioning of the nervous system with particular emphasis on the control of posture, balance, coordination and movement. This enables me to clearly identify the root of the problem and customise a care plan that is tailored to each patient. This provides optimum results and this is the method that I have been utilising since 2012. When i first came to the chiropractic i had a trapped nerve that was crippling me for over 2 years and needed a walking stick at times and a bad neck. After my first treatment I found, impressively, that the intensity of the flushes had greatly reduced to a bearable level. However, after my second appointment the flushes has completely stopped. I have to report that it has now been over 7 months without hot flushes and this has been life changing!I have since seen Edwina for post-op abdominal pain and sensitivity.
