Your requesting treatment and our agreement to provide that care constitutes a contract. You can of course, refuse to provide the information, but if you were to do that we would not be able to provide treatment. We have a ‘Legitimate Interest’ in collecting that information, because without it we couldn’t do our job effectively and safely. We also think that it is important that we can contact you in order to confirm your appointments with us or to update you on matters related to your medical care. This again constitutes ‘Legitimate Interest’, but this time it is your legitimate interest.Provided we have your consent, we may occasionally send you general health information in the form of articles, advice or newsletters. You may withdraw this consent at any time – just let us know by any convenient method. We have a legal obligation to retain your records for 8 years after your most recent appointment (or age 25, if this is longer), but after this period you can ask us to delete your records if you wish.Your records are stored:on paper, in locked filing cabinets and the offices are always locked and alarmed out of working hours.electronically (“in the cloud”). This provider has given us their assurances that they are fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations. Access to this data is password protected and the passwords are changed regularly.on our office computers. These are password protected, backed up regularly and the office(s) are locked and alarmed out of working hours. We will never share your data with anyone who does not need access without your written consent. Only the following people/agencies will have routine access to your data:Your practitioner(s) in order that they can provide you with treatmentOur reception team, because they organize our practitioner’s diaries, they maintain and organize the practice filing system and they coordinate appointments and reminders.Other administrative staff, such as our bookkeeper. However these administrative staff will not have access to your medical notes, just your essential contact details. We also use Moosend and Mailchimp to coordinate our messages, so your name and address may be saved on their serversYour details may be released to NHS Test and Trace for contact tracing if necessary. From time to time, we may have to employ consultants to perform tasks which might give them access to your personal data (but not your medical notes). We will ensure that they are fully aware that they must treat that information as confidential and we will ensure that they sign a non-disclosure agreement. If Wokingham Chiropractic Centre is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Website of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information. You have the right to see what personal data of yours we hold and you can also ask us to correct any factual errors. Provided the legal minimum period has elapsed, you can also ask us to erase your records. We want you to be absolutely confident that we are treating your personal data responsibly and that we are doing everything we can to make sure that the only people who can access that data have a genuine need to do so.Of course, if you feel that we are mishandling your personal data in some way, you have the right to complain. Complaints need to be sent to what is referred to in the jargon as the “Data Controller”. The physical examination may involve undressing to underwear and females will be offered a gown to wear.If your situation warrants it, examination may include xrays or scans. These procedures are not done on site and would only be undertaken after your chiropractor has discussed the situation with you.Once all the information about your situation has been accumulated, your chiropractor will be in a position to give you an informed opinion as to the diagnosis and whether chiropractic care would be of benefit in your particular situation (this is sometimes called the ‘report of findings’).You will be encouraged to ask questions and if there is any aspect of the procedure or explanation that needs clarification, please ask. Here’s a link to the GCC’s leaflet explaining what you can expect:What can I expect when I see a chiropractor?Related PagesThe TeamOur feesYour First VisitPrivacyOpening TimesMonday9.00am – 7.00pmTuesday9.00am – 6.30pmWednesday9.00am – 7.00pmThursday 2.00pm – 5.00pmFriday 9.00am – 7.00pmSaturdayoccasionalSundayClosed Make a Booking Copyright © Wokingham Chiropractic Centre • 29 Denton Road, Wokingham. She passed the advanced SOT exam in 1995 and qualified as a cranial chiropractor in 2005. Since that time she has helped to teach these techniques to other chiropractors at post graduate level. She studied Applied Kinesiology, finding it useful to get to the root of some conditions. In 1998, Andrea qualified as a Pilates matwork instructor, an approach that she finds invaluable as a means to prevent problems from recurring.Although general family practice is her passion, she relishes clinical challenges that have proven unresponsive to other treatment approaches. She has worked with hundreds of children and babies over more than 20 years in practice. Her two sons keep her busy, whether it be cheering from the sideline at football matches, swimming, horseriding or dog walking. She still practises Pilates regularly.Henry ButterfieldDirector/Principal ChiropractorOn completing a B.Sc.(Jt. Hons) in Physiology and Psychology at Cardiff University, Henry started at Chiropractic college in Bournemouth.Emerging with his Chiropractic qualification (D.C.) 4 years later, he realised with regret that his status as a perpetual student no longer applied. After gaining invaluable experience in other clinics, Henry established Wokingham Chiropractic Centre with Andrea in 1994.He enjoys the wide variety of general chiropractic practice with a special interest in the role that stress and psychoemotional factors play in the development of pain and dysfunction. Sylvie Tops-WhitfieldAssociate McTimoney ChiropractorSylvie graduated from McTimoney College of Chiropractic and uses this whole body, gentle chiropractic technique to help her patients. McTimoney is a low force method, used to deliver a specific type of adjustment that is gentle to receive. As such it is suited to people of all ages, from the young, through adulthood into the older years. Sylvie frequently uses McTimoney in conjunction with soft-tissue work. She has also qualified in Western medical acupuncture, as well as pregnancy massage and is trained in aspects of Biogeometric Integration (BGI) technique. When not involved in health and fitness, Sylvie is usually found running after her 2 children and dog.Lubina PunAssociate ChiropractorLubina moved to the UK from her home in Nepal in 2008 in order to pursue further education. She qualified as a chiropractor from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic with a special interest in headaches, paediatrics and pregnancy.Lubina has developed an holistic approach to the treatment of a variety of neuromusculoskeletal disorders. She has found that a patient centred approach works well in this respect. Her approach is collaborative and combines physical treatment with lifestyle, ergonomic and exercise advice. In her spare time she enjoys reading, sketching and staying active by cycling and walking.Related PagesThe TeamOur feesYour First VisitPrivacyOpening TimesMonday9.00am – 7.00pmTuesday9.00am – 6.30pmWednesday9.00am – 7.00pmThursday 2.00pm – 5.00pmFriday 9.00am – 7.00pmSaturdayoccasionalSundayClosed Make a Booking Copyright © Wokingham Chiropractic Centre • 29 Denton Road, Wokingham.
