Over a number of years, Andy developed a growing interest in Chiropractic while living in Bournemouth, the home of the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and the heartland of Chiropractic in the UK. He saw how many of his friends and close family had been helped by chiropractic treatment and also had a friend who was already studying to become a chiropractor. This led to making the major decision for Andy to have a complete career change, giving up his job and selling their home, and retraining for 5 years to become a chiropractor. This took him to the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic to study, from where he graduated in 2000 with a first class honours Masters degree in Chiropractic. He was also presented with the Holm Award, which is given annually to the most holistic graduate. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2002. After graduating Andy and Louise relocated to Derby to work at Highfield Chiropractic Clinic and took over the practice two years later. During his time in practice, he has developed a keen interest in spinal rehabilitation and has attended many conferences and seminars held by world-renowned specialists in this field. From his interest in sport, Andy has furthered his knowledge in the treatment of sports injuries, particularly golf and running related, of which he has personal knowledge and expertise. He also enjoys treating problems associated with poor posture and office work, as well as caring for the elderly and those with specific health requirements. In 2010 he furthered his skills and qualified in the technique of myofascial dry needling (a form of western/medical acupuncture). Andy is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors. During her studies at A-Level she first came across Chiropractic and grew more interested in following it as a career path which aligned to a childhood wish to become a manual therapist like her grandmother. In 2003 Leanne graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic and has gained extensive experience helping all ages with all manner of complaints over the past 20 plus years. Now a mum of two, she enjoys a busy family life in Derby, where she maintains an enthusiasm for Chiropractic and its place in the medical system. She is passionate about offering a service that is thorough, biomechanical and evidence based, which provides solutions but acknowledges the difficulties of optimal wellbeing in a modern world. Leanne feels strongly that each treatment plan be tailored to the individual, encompassing varying techniques and education, so together we can identify and work on causes, not only symptoms. Leanne is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association. In her spare time, Leanne enjoys walking in countryside with the family, friends, and their dog Pippa. She likes to keep fit and active through a variety of exercise classes and outdoor pursuits. She had hoped to dance professionally, however due to an injury, she was unable to pursue this dream. Subsequently she went on to have a successful career in banking and financial services, where she met her husband Andy. After a number of years working together, they made the major decision for Andy to take a different career path to pursue his growing interest in Chiropractic. Louise carried on working to support him during this period, over what seemed a long 5 years. She also used this time, to study for an ITEC Diploma in Massage and qualified in 1999 as a massage therapist, specialising in remedial/sports massage. Due to her many years of intensive dance training, Louise suffered with a lower back condition. As well as undergoing Chiropractic treatment, she attended a course in spinal rehabilitation at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. Following this, she developed a keen interest in exercise-based rehabilitation. This, together with her dance experience led her to take this further. She has since undertaken training with several leading figures in rehabilitation including Prof. Stuart McGill and Craig Liebenson, DC. When Louise and Andy took over Highfield Chiropractic Clinic in 2002, she took on the role of Practice Manager, as well as spinal rehabilitation trainer and sports massage therapist. She qualified as an advanced Level 3 Pilates instructor in 2012 and is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and runs regular group pilates classes in Derby as well as small group and 1:1 Pilates classes at Highfield Chiropractic Clinic in a dedicated Pilates studio. Combining her massage qualifications and her passion for Pilates, has allowed her to help others feel the benefits of Pilates and Sports Massage in achieving optimum health. In her spare time she enjoys running, weight training and fitness and walks in the countryside. It is situated on Kedleston Road, close to the A38 on one of the main routes into Derby. Bus routes pass the clinic, which comprises ground floor premises with easy access for wheelchairs. Parking is unrestricted in adjoining Highfield Road. There is additional limited parking on Kedleston Road and further parking on our driveway. Our clinic includes a spacious waiting/reception area, changing facilities and separate private consulting rooms. We also have a resident sports/remedial massage therapist, a specialist spinal rehabilitation gym and Pilates studio. In our gym patients undertake exercise training based on the latest research for back and neck rehabilitation. Evidence shows that exercising is more effective if it is carried out under supervision. Selected patients take part in specially designed spinal reconditioning programmes under the direction of our trainer. Trusted by more than 20,000 patients Over the years we have seen more than 20,000 patients. In recent years the value of chiropractic treatment has been demonstrated ever more convincingly and for over 30 years the services of this clinic have been purchased by local industry and recommended by local GP’s. Chiropractors in the UK are required to adhere to a strict Code of Practice set by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), in exactly the same way as other health professions, such as dentists. To register with the GCC chiropractors in the UK must meet and maintain high standards of education and practice, to best look after their patients. The British Chiropractic Association is our professional body, which has a long history of advancing the chiropractic profession in the UK. Over a number of years, Andy developed a growing interest in Chiropractic while living in Bournemouth, the home of the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and the heartland of Chiropractic in the UK. He saw how many of his friends and close family had been helped by chiropractic treatment and also had a friend who was already studying to become a chiropractor. This led to making the major decision for Andy to have a complete career change, giving up his job and selling their home, and retraining for 5 years to become a chiropractor. This took him to the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic to study, from where he graduated in 2000 with a first class honours Masters degree in Chiropractic. He was also presented with the Holm Award, which is given annually to the most holistic graduate. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2002. After graduating Andy and Louise relocated to Derby to work at Highfield Chiropractic Clinic and took over the practice two years later. During his time in practice, he has developed a keen interest in spinal rehabilitation and has attended many conferences and seminars held by world-renowned specialists in this field. From his interest in sport, Andy has furthered his knowledge in the treatment of sports injuries, particularly golf and running related, of which he has personal knowledge and expertise. He also enjoys treating problems associated with poor posture and office work, as well as caring for the elderly and those with specific health requirements. In 2010 he furthered his skills and qualified in the technique of myofascial dry needling (a form of western/medical acupuncture). Andy is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors. During her studies at A-Level she first came across Chiropractic and grew more interested in following it as a career path which aligned to a childhood wish to become a manual therapist like her grandmother. In 2003 Leanne graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic and has gained extensive experience helping all ages with all manner of complaints over the past 20 plus years. Now a mum of two, she enjoys a busy family life in Derby, where she maintains an enthusiasm for Chiropractic and its place in the medical system. She is passionate about offering a service that is thorough, biomechanical and evidence based, which provides solutions but acknowledges the difficulties of optimal wellbeing in a modern world. Leanne feels strongly that each treatment plan be tailored to the individual, encompassing varying techniques and education, so together we can identify and work on causes, not only symptoms. Leanne is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association. In her spare time, Leanne enjoys walking in countryside with the family, friends, and their dog Pippa. She likes to keep fit and active through a variety of exercise classes and outdoor pursuits. She had hoped to dance professionally, however due to an injury, she was unable to pursue this dream. Subsequently she went on to have a successful career in banking and financial services, where she met her husband Andy. After a number of years working together, they made the major decision for Andy to take a different career path to pursue his growing interest in Chiropractic. Louise carried on working to support him during this period, over what seemed a long 5 years. She also used this time, to study for an ITEC Diploma in Massage and qualified in 1999 as a massage therapist, specialising in remedial/sports massage. Due to her many years of intensive dance training, Louise suffered with a lower back condition. As well as undergoing Chiropractic treatment, she attended a course in spinal rehabilitation at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. Following this, she developed a keen interest in exercise-based rehabilitation. This, together with her dance experience led her to take this further. She has since undertaken training with several leading figures in rehabilitation including Prof. Stuart McGill and Craig Liebenson, DC. When Louise and Andy took over Highfield Chiropractic Clinic in 2002, she took on the role of Practice Manager, as well as spinal rehabilitation trainer and sports massage therapist. She qualified as an advanced Level 3 Pilates instructor in 2012 and is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and runs regular group pilates classes in Derby as well as small group and 1:1 Pilates classes at Highfield Chiropractic Clinic in a dedicated Pilates studio. Combining her massage qualifications and her passion for Pilates, has allowed her to help others feel the benefits of Pilates and Sports Massage in achieving optimum health. In her spare time she enjoys running, weight training and fitness and walks in the countryside. It is situated on Kedleston Road, close to the A38 on one of the main routes into Derby. Bus routes pass the clinic, which comprises ground floor premises with easy access for wheelchairs. Parking is unrestricted in adjoining Highfield Road. There is additional limited parking on Kedleston Road and further parking on our driveway. Our clinic includes a spacious waiting/reception area, changing facilities and separate private consulting rooms. We also have a resident sports/remedial massage therapist, a specialist spinal rehabilitation gym and Pilates studio. In our gym patients undertake exercise training based on the latest research for back and neck rehabilitation. Evidence shows that exercising is more effective if it is carried out under supervision. Selected patients take part in specially designed spinal reconditioning programmes under the direction of our trainer. In recent years the value of chiropractic treatment has been demonstrated ever more convincingly and for over 30 years the services of this clinic have been purchased by local industry and recommended by local GP’s. Highfield Chiropractic Clinic are specialists in the treatment of back pain, leg pain, neck pain, headaches, arm pain and other conditions affecting your body’s muscles, bones and joints, collectively known as the musculoskeletal system.
