For more stubborn complaints, we now also offer Shockwave Therapy - a relatively new technology which can be effective for problems not responsive to standard care such as medication, exercise or manual therapy. We are currently looking for osteopaths, chiropractors, sports therapists, massage therapists, nutritional therapists or functional medicine practitioners to join our expanding team. Please contact us for more information. Chris Mallett Chiropractor Chris is one of our very experienced chiropractors available at both our Newport and Stafford chiropractic clinics. He has a variety of skills including: Chiropractic, medical acupuncture (myofascial dry needling); Shockwave Therapy; kinesio (sports) taping; ultrasound therapy and spinal rehabilitation. He has also recently gained certification in neuro-mechanical nutrition from the Academy of Chiropractic Nutrition. As a keen mountain biker and runner, Chris knows what it takes to obtain (and maintain) good spinal function and movement having suffered back pain, a disc prolapse, and surgery prior to training as a Chiropractor. He is a registered Doctor of Chiropractic and is very passionate about helping his patients to not only to get out of pain, but also manage their conditions in the long term. He is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and a member of the British Chiropractic Association. Liesa Averill Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist RESTORE Scar Therapy Practitioner Liesa is our Sports and Remedial Massage and Scar Therapist, and is available at our Stafford Chiropractic & Wellness clinic. A keen and regular recreational runner, Liesa is very passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to soft tissue injuries and has undergone many hours of learning with one of the most prestigious massage schools in the country (NLSSM) and holds a BTEC Level 5 Professional Sports Massage and Remedial Therapy Diploma. This includes skills in soft tissue release and energy techniques for both sports and everyday relaxation and postural tension. Liesa is also a qualified RESTORE Scar Therapy Practitioner and holds Oncology Massage qualifications so that she can further help those with more challenging conditions to have some functional improvement and pain relief. She is also interested in Lymphatic system massage which is next on the list! Hannah Millington Sports Massage Therapist Hannah is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and is available at our Stafford Chiropractic & Wellness clinic. She is also a qualified physiotherapist working full time within the NHS. Her love of movement and sport came from being a competitive gymnast since the age of 5 and has continued into adulthood with a passion for Pilates and regular gym sessions. Hannah has a keen interest in musculoskeletal health and injuries and her training includes skills in soft tissue techniques to aid with sports injury recovery. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP). Book your appointment today and let’s get you moving better again! About Hannah Hannah is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist based at our Stafford Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic. She’s also a qualified physiotherapist, working full-time within the NHS. Her love of movement and sport began at just five years old as a competitive gymnast, and that passion has continued into adulthood through Pilates and regular gym training. Hannah has a strong interest in musculoskeletal health and injury recovery, and her professional training includes a range of soft tissue techniques to support rehabilitation and enhance performance. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP). What is Massage Therapy Our massage therapists offer sports, remedial (therapeutic) and deep tissue massage which is focused on the soft tissues of the body. Please contact us for more information. Chris Mallett Chiropractor Chris is one of our very experienced chiropractors available at both our Newport and Stafford chiropractic clinics. He has a variety of skills including: Chiropractic, medical acupuncture (myofascial dry needling); Shockwave Therapy; kinesio (sports) taping; ultrasound therapy and spinal rehabilitation. He has also recently gained certification in neuro-mechanical nutrition from the Academy of Chiropractic Nutrition. As a keen mountain biker and runner, Chris knows what it takes to obtain (and maintain) good spinal function and movement having suffered back pain, a disc prolapse, and surgery prior to training as a Chiropractor. He is a registered Doctor of Chiropractic and is very passionate about helping his patients to not only to get out of pain, but also manage their conditions in the long term. He is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and a member of the British Chiropractic Association. Liesa Averill Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist RESTORE Scar Therapy Practitioner Liesa is our Sports and Remedial Massage and Scar Therapist, and is available at our Stafford Chiropractic & Wellness clinic. A keen and regular recreational runner, Liesa is very passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to soft tissue injuries and has undergone many hours of learning with one of the most prestigious massage schools in the country (NLSSM) and holds a BTEC Level 5 Professional Sports Massage and Remedial Therapy Diploma. This includes skills in soft tissue release and energy techniques for both sports and everyday relaxation and postural tension. Liesa is also a qualified RESTORE Scar Therapy Practitioner and holds Oncology Massage qualifications so that she can further help those with more challenging conditions to have some functional improvement and pain relief. She is also interested in Lymphatic system massage which is next on the list! Hannah Millington Sports Massage Therapist Hannah is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist and is available at our Stafford Chiropractic & Wellness clinic. She is also a qualified physiotherapist working full time within the NHS. Her love of movement and sport came from being a competitive gymnast since the age of 5 and has continued into adulthood with a passion for Pilates and regular gym sessions. Hannah has a keen interest in musculoskeletal health and injuries and her training includes skills in soft tissue techniques to aid with sports injury recovery. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP). Although manual therapy is often very effective, we also appreciate the importance of rehabilitative exercise and functional re-education in your recovery from injury as well as maintenance of overall health. As such, we will often advise on lifestyle, posture, exercise and specific training to help you on your way. We follow a four-step process that ensures you get clear communication, effective treatment, and sustainable results: Your road to recovery Step 1. Discussion & History We begin by listening to your story — your pain, prior treatments, lifestyle, posture, and any concerns you have. This helps us tailor a plan for chiropractic care or massage therapy, or a combination, based on what’s right for you. Step 2. Examination We undertake a physical exam including posture, joint movement, muscle strength, and nerve function where required. We will be open and honest about our findings and explain why you may need chiropractic adjustments or massage therapy (or both). If we think you need referral, we can arrange that too, including scans. Step 3. Treatment We will discuss your case clearly with you prior to your care, and (if applicable) you will receive treatment at your first visit. Treatment varies depending on individual circumstances and may include: Chiropractic adjustments (spinal manipulation) if applicable; Massage therapy; Soft tissue work, mobilization, or other manual techniques. Step 4. Rehabilitation & Maintenance As you progress through your care plan, we will often give exercises and advice to build and maintain good movement and function. This can be at home, or with structured personal trainer sessions within the gym (Stafford only), and may also include Yoga or Pilates.
